The lotus flower is an aquatic plant, and it's part of the Nymphaeaceae family. The lotus flower closes its leaves in the evening, and submerges in the water. At dawn it florishes again . This flower became a symbol of the sun, the creation and rebirth. The Book of the Dead mentions the lotus flower: “Transform yourself in a lotus flower, and you will have the promisse of rebirth”.

The Narcissus is a genus in the Amaryllis family. The origin of this flowers name is linked to the mythic tale of Narcissus. The stem of this flower isn't straight, so the flower usually is turned towards the ground. The myth tells us that Narcissus was looking to his reflection in a lake when he was transformed into a Narcissus flower, wich explains why the flower is turned towards the ground. This flower became a symbol of the transformation of vanity into humility.

The Forget-me-nots are a genus from the Boraginaceae family. The legend tells us that a knight and his lady were walking along the side of a river. He picked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted "Forget-me-not". This sentence became the name of this flower in many languages: english, spanish, italian, etc.
